The only thing I'll say Giant does better than Watcher at this point is that Watcher's tentacles don't even proc giantkiller's crit which is pretty stupid. The biggest problem with it all is that it just forces me to take one specific route every time that avoids those two bosses so I can have a build that works for something other than those two bosses. Watcher at least has a fixed amount of extra stuff you have to kill just to hurt him, if you don't have decent DPS available at the end of caverns you might have to kill Giant's hands like 20 times. You can't immobilize him, nearly nothing can proc its crit, he has too much health, and you have to whittle down adds to even do damage to him. I have the same problem with Giant that I have with the Watcher, which is that very little that's relevant in the rest of the game works at all against him. Or don't know how to work with the game in it's current broken state :/ But I only beat the game once on two boss cells after going to the caverns. I had no problems beating the game without going to the caverns with normal gear. But it doesn't matter since you'll die at the boss fight anyway. You can make the argument that you get some high quality gear in caverns prior to the giant fight. What's even the point of fighting him? And the only point of going to the caverns is to get blueprints for the new weapons, that's it. You just get one weapon after you beat him for the first time and some outfits to unlock. You don't get any cells for beating him, you don't get any gold. Oh, and also, the fight is completely pointless. Or I bounce off of the fist and go to the side unpredictably (that also goes for projectile dodging) When I kill one of his fists and try to climb on it to damage the eye, my character just flies up uncontrollably so I can't deal as much damage. His attacks deal massive amounts of damage.Īnd not to forget, the fight itself is buggy too. His fists are hard to hit, the actual window in which you can chip at his health is tiny, spammy design, horrible projectile hitboxes. Not to mention the whole boss fight is horribly designed. Is there literally only one meta against the giant and that's it? Literally all of my other builds did nothing against him. The only time when I defeated the giant on two boss cells is when I went with a full Survival build, using the giant killer that crits bosses and elites. And I died in the end, only leaving the giant with about 1/4 health left. I spent literally 15 minutes chipping away at the Giant's health. I did no damage, despite having a high level weapon with good affixes considering my other items. Shrapnel axe had 100% on poisoned targets as well as targets on fire (as well as some unrelated affixes of course) Wolf trap had the affix that releases poison upon use. I had the shrapnel axe 7-S, wolf trap 4-S, fire grenade 6-S, and a force shield, or rampart, I don't know how it's called anymore, that was also 6-S I had 20 Brutality and 10 survival, and I think 3 tactics. But that's not the pointĪnyway, I reached a Giant couple of times on two boss cells (I don't bother playing on more becuase it's unfair, cheap "challenge"). thing again, this flustercluck of a gameĪpparently Arbiter got a nerf, lol nope, it's still the same since when I left.
